About us

Our goal is to advocate for Brock’s Jewish members against prejudice, discrimination, and intimidation of any kind, all of which pose a threat to safety and well-being. Unfortunately, to date Jews have been largely left out of institutional efforts for diversity, equity and inclusion. We hope that will change in the future and that we can help to build a healthy and steady bridge between the Jewish community at Brock and our academic institution.

October 7th and the days that followed have shaken the Jewish community to its core globally, nationally, and locally at Brock. The University has made a public commitment to address antisemitism, but many gaps remain between the intent and result, and grievances go unanswered, raising serious concerns about systemic equity for Jewish members of the Brock community.

Our mission:

BCAA, uniting Jewish and non-Jewish faculty, staff, and graduate students at Brock University, is dedicated to combating antisemitism and its manifestations, including anti-Zionism, through education, advocacy, solidarity, and accountability. Upholding academic integrity, we are committed to challenging the practices and rhetoric that legitimize anti-Jewish prejudice, discrimination, and intimidation on our campus. Our efforts will also aim to amplify the Jewish voice at Brock, through academic research and campus-wide education on antisemitism.
