- The Conflict over the Conflict: The Israel/Palestine Campus Debate by Kenneth S. Stern
The book elucidates the nuances of free speech, hate speech and academic freedom. One of Stern’s main ideas is that pro-Palestinian groups silence pro-Israel speech by protests and intimidation, and Jewish groups suppress their speech with connections with administrators and pressure from donors. His principal suggestion to Jewish or pro-Israel groups is to not attempt to suppress speech, even if it’s hateful, but to use platforms to educate on the truth, and also ask from universities to distance themselves from hate speech that happens at their universities with statements that call it out. - Jews Don’t Count by David Baddiel
